" Chennai Express is a little hole in the wall with some of the most delicious dosas and idlis I've had outside of India. The owner is super friendly, and he's always happy to explain the dishes. Be warned that the wait can be long since he is often the only one working, but the food is worth every minute. Just remember to check the parking situation before you go; it's a bit tricky. Overall, I’d rate it highly for authenticity and taste. " (*Curated Review*)
" During my trip to Montreal, I came across Chennai Express and had to stop by after noticing its high ratings. My experience lived up to the hype; the food was authentic, and the flavors were vibrant. It’s a bit cramped inside, but the quality of the food makes it worth it. Never have I tasted such fantastic dosas outside of India! " (*Curated Review*)
" The food here is fantastic! I had a chance to try the channa dosa which was unique and delicious paired with their excellent coconut chutney. However, the ambiance left much to be desired since it can get quite noisy and crowded. Overall, great place for a quick and fulfilling meal. " (*Curated Review*)
" I have been craving authentic South Indian food and Chennai Express did not let me down! The chicken dosa was flavorful and definitely authentic. I could not believe I was able to find such great food in Montreal. Despite the small space, the experience was enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the sambhar as well! " (*Curated Review*)
" I recently visited Chennai Express and was absolutely delighted! The chicken biryani was packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic the masala dosa tasted. The owner was also very hospitable, making my experience even better. However, the seating is quite cramped, so make sure to go during off-peak hours. Overall, a gem for South Indian cuisine in Montreal! " (*Curated Review*)
" Disappointed with my visit. The service was subpar; it took a while for my order to be taken and the wait for my food was excessive. The dosas were decent but just lacked that authentic kick I was hoping for. It's a shame because I read so many great reviews prior to visiting. I may give it another shot sometime in the future, but my first experience was not ideal. " (*Curated Review*)
" My experience at Chennai Express was mixed. The food was decent; the dosas were tasty, but I felt the sambhar was a bit too watery for my liking. The service was alright, but the wait time was lengthy since there was only one person handling orders and cooking. The ambiance is not the best, but it's a small place. I would consider going back with lower expectations. " (*Curated Review*)
